Voidcom voice runs on the same MLS protocol family as Discord DAVE (RFC 9420), but on a post-quantum hybrid ciphersuite (ML-KEM-768 + X25519). DAVE itself uses a classical P-256 ciphersuite. Voice rooms above 99 participants are a separate Stage tier that is server-mediated, not E2E — same posture Discord takes for Stage channels. More details.
Why choose Voidcom?
E2E where it counts
DMs and voice are end-to-end encrypted. Voice runs on MLS 1.0 (RFC 9420) — the same protocol family as Discord DAVE — on a post-quantum hybrid ciphersuite. Server channels are protected by transport encryption.
Native performance
No Electron. True desktop app — lower memory, lower latency, and faster startup than browser-based alternatives.
Built for gaming
Ultra-low latency voice for competitive gaming. Video and screen sharing in alpha with hardware-accelerated encoding.
Free during beta
All features are free while we're in beta. After launch, core features stay free with an optional Abyss tier for bandwidth-heavy upgrades.
